Master Planned Community
In 2017, RDS completed the first of multiple stages in Flagstone City, one of Queensland’s largest Master Planned Communities. Over the last few years, RDS has constructed multiple stages of various types on behalf of Peet, Flagstone City.
RDS first developed stages 7B & G which would eventually provide the commercial space for multiple stores including a service station, convenience store, cafes and other small specialty stores. Works for this stage included bulk earthworks, roadworks, sewer, water, stormwater and electrical reticulation, bio retention basin and other basin works and traffic signal works. Concurrent to this, RDS also constructed the car park for the Flagstone Display Village, providing parking for those looking to build in the area.
Stage 1D, a residential subdivision stage was constructed in 2017 providing 13 residential lots and included civil works, service installation, power and communication services.
Further commercial subdivision works included stages 7i Phase A and Phase B. Phase A included clearing, grubbing, dewatering of a 4,000,000 litre basin, dispersive soil treatment and earthworks. Phase B included all civil works including stormwater, water, sewer, electrical works, concrete structures, internal roadways and linemarking, bio basins, swales and fencing. This site will be the future home of specialty stores providing services to the Flagstone Community.
As well as residential and commercial subdivisions, RDS has constructed multiple resources for the community. Construction of the new sales office area including car parking services well as building and landscaping. The construction of the temporary Recreational Fields 3 included earthworks, car parks, water reticulation, sewer reticulation, premium landscaping, bio retention basins and gabion baskets. The temporary playing fields involved bulk earthworks, water, sewer and car park works. Works on the recreational car park were undertaken in early 2019 to provide parking for the new adventure playground, one of the largest in the southern hemisphere.
Furthermore, RDS carried out environmentally sensitive Waterway Stability Works on the creek bed running through the Flagstone recreational area, bordering on the residential dwellings. This included removing dispersive content from the creek bank and replacing with a non dispersive soil, rock lining and pocket planting native plants. These works were completed with minimal construction footprint and resulted in an improved water quality.
RDS has been proud to work in partnership with Peet and the Flagstone community and hope to continue this excellent relationship long into the future.
